Like many people, my interest began with questions no one quite had answers to. Who were my great-grandparents? What did they do? These were stories that had stopped being told. Ancestors who felt close, part of me, yet somehow were unreachable.
When I finally uncovered the truth about parts of my own family through years of careful research (and later DNA), it became more than names and dates. It was connection. Context. Understanding.
That moment never left me.
Why I Do This Differently
Before founding Meet Your Past, I spent over 18 years working with families as a professional photographer. I learned how to listen carefully, handle personal stories with discretion, and turn raw material into something meaningful and lasting.
Those skills now sit at the heart of my genealogical work.

My work is grounded in UK & Irish records, with a particular familiarity with Nottinghamshire and surrounding counties. Many of the churches and parishes I research are places I’ve walked, photographed, and returned to for years.
